The idea: I have seen before how the internet can change how people view themselves and different ideas. I want to show how different internet sites can warp how you see yourself.
Reflection: The image of yourself as the person you are reading about on the internet. The person you want or hope to be if you buy/do what the site provides.
The critics2: Nothing again
Search: Asked my friend what sites she goes on a lot and she gave me the website for H&M. After this i found the picture of a model wearing the same dress as hers so i decided to use that one.
Prezi: I lined up the shots in a row, left to right, and plan on doing it to the other photos i get in the future.
[[#x-Wk 09: Starting to work on the VSP. Here is what I have so far . . .---What’s next: I am not satisfied with the “story” yet as I’ve constructed it in Prezi. I want to investigate Sontag’s idea of the camera and aggression. Also, the initial image of the photographer to the left of the burning man in the original photo needs critical attention as does the NYT’s editorial decision to post the photograph (in B&W) on page A4 of the paper. Also, there are the comments to the blog where a person was offended [Gulfres from Houston:The NYTimes should not put these images on the web without some warning as to their graphic and disturbing nature.] by happening on to the images.]]What’s next: I plan on getting a new subject because the girl is done for now. I was thinking about the same style but with a site like E-trade. A site that has wealth in it. I want to get a shot of a normal looking person looking at his/her computer screen and in the next panel show the E-Trade logo or main site. Then finish with them in business wear.
My point: I want people to understand that the internet can morph the way you picture yourself for better or worse. The girl sees herself in a fancy dress, the next sees the way to wealth, but imagining these pictures of yourself in your head isn't always what it will seem to be.
